China to Ease Quarantine Restrictions & Unnecessary Testing After Protests

The world's second-largest economy, China, moves away from extreme Covid restrictions after protests erupt across the country.

The Zero-Covid policy stalled many businesses across China and drastically reduced export volume. China remains unprepared to treat the large populous as the elderly vaccination rate has been ineffective and hospitals fail to provide intensive care as hospitalizations rise.

Health experts emphasize that China is not in position to treat a large volume of infected patients and should ease restrictions to regain compliance of those who no longer see hope in the Zero-Covid policy.

However, some residential communities with "higher risk" still are still in lockdown. Many people in China hope for more livable conditions under Covid policies, including more personal decision-making.
