Former NFL Quarterback Ryan Mallett died Tuesday after drowning off a Florida beach, according to local authorities.
First responders were called to the beach around 2 p.m. local time due to reports that people were not able to make it to shore.
Mallett was not breathing when lifeguards pulled him out of the water. He later died in the hospital.
He was 35.
