Protests erupted across China on Saturday, in Shanghai and many universities across the region.
Thousands of people chanted "Step down, Xi Jinping! Step down, Communist Party!" while holding up signs and recording the unexpected rebellion against the government.
In Urumqi (Capital of Xinjiang), a deadly fire killed 10 and injured several others on Thursday. The Covid lockdown caused a delay in firefighters to reach the victims which acted as a catalysts for protests.
Anger and defiance worked its way through universities in China, resulting in large gatherings with no protection on campus. Students created signs which emphasized anger at the Chinese Communist Party, as well as Xi Jinping.
