On Thursday afternoon, Brig. Gen. Par Ryder, Pentagon spokesperson, said during a briefing that the U.S. Government has detected a high-altitude surveillance balloon over northern U.S. states.
The spokesperson added that the balloon is flying above commercial air traffic and does not pose a physical threat to the people on ground.
