Supreme Court Strikes Down Affirmative Action Program At Colleges & Universities

The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that colleges and universities can no longer use race as a specific basis in educational admissions, overturning a long-standing precedent in the U.S. educational system.

Chief Justice John Roberts said that such programs (Affirmative Action Programs) at Harvard & The University of North Carolina "violate the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment". He said that such programs involve racial stereotyping and had no specific endpoint.

Former President Trump reacted to the ruling, saying Thursday was a "great day for America", while Senator Chuck Schumer called the ruling a "a giant roadblock".
