New MLK Monument In Boston Receives Mockery & Criticism

Backlash over the recent MLK monument which was unveiled in Boston, makes for an unpleasant surprise for many, on MLK Day.

A 20-foot high statue named "The Embrace", was unveiled on Thursday in remembrance of MLK Junior. The statue is in honor of the time King was hugging Scott King after he won Nobel Piece Prize in 1964.

The statue, designed by Hank Willis Thomas, was widely criticized on social media as people called the figure "hideous" and disrespectful". Some even said that the statue resembles sexual acts which take away from the statue's true intent.

However, many also appreciated the artists work, saying that they are happy with it. MLK the 3rd, said the artist in-fact did a "great job", stating that the figure "brings people together".
