Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Soviet Union leader, dies at the age of 91. (8/30/2022)
Mikhail Gorbachev made Russia a much freer nation than it had ever been. Mikhail started a revolution which turned around the Soviet Union for good, giving the Russian people more freedom than they had ever had under any other USSR leader.
As president, Mikhail reduced power in the central government and let smaller bodies of government rule over smaller nations. In doing so, Russia became a sovereign country with less monopolistic elites.
