Famous author, Salman Rushdie, who has faced threats for decades has been stabbed in the neck during a New York event on Friday.
At around 11am EST, a man rushed to the stage at the Chautauqua Institution and attacked Salman and an interviewer. The deadly attack left Salman in critical condition and the interviewer with a minor head injury.
Although his condition is not yet known, he is reported of facing critical damage to his neck and surrounding areas.
The suspect of the gruesome attack has been taken into custody by the offer assigned to the event. A witness has said that the suspect wore all black, and that he appeared to be helping with sound setup for the event.
More details on the attack are yet to be identified.
