Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Ukraine's Zelensky spoke by phone Wednesday, the first known talk between the leaders since the war began.
Zelensky, who was been longing for talks with Xi, said he had a "long and meaningful" phone call with the Chinese leader.
The two allegedly doubled down on bilateral relations over all and discussed potential peace deals with world nuclear power, Russia.
Xi emphasized that China's core position on the conflict is to "promote peace".
