U.S. President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Ukraine early Monday, his first visit since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine almost a year ago.
During the highly secretive visit, Joe Biden and Zelensky had talks on incoming sanctions on Moscow and military support for Ukraine, announcing half-a-billion dollars in new aid for Kyiv which will mainly consist military equipment.
Biden arrived in Kyiv at around 8 a.m. local time after a long trip from Washington.
White House officials would not provide much detail on the president's trip until they receive an indication from Biden's security.
