WBC: Japan Wins Third Title In 3-2 Victory Over The U.S.

Japan wins the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday night, beating Team USA 3-2 in the championship game in Miami. 

The game took s dramatic turn in final moments with Japan's Shohei Ohtani striking out Mike Trout with a full slide to seal Japan's third title. 

Ohtani, who batted .435 with a 1.86 ERA, was named the game's most valuable player.

Japan also won titles in 2006 and 2009. The recent tournament was postponed from 2021 to 2023 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
