Microsoft & Amazon To Layoff More 28,000 Workers Combined To Avoid Expenses

Earlier in the month, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that the company will layoff workers, effecting more than 18,000. Amazon is looking to layoff by headcount after the massive hiring spree during the Covid-19 pandemic which increased expenses but was much needed at the time.

Microsoft is also looking to layoff over 10,000 workers to avoid expenses and compensate for over-hiring during the pandemic. CEO Satya Nadella said Wednesday that Microsoft looks to trim costs amid economic uncertainty and focus on strategic priorities.
