JPMorgan Chase Acquires First Republic Bank After FDIC Seizes Bank

U.S. stocks nearly break even on Monday as investors digest JPMorgan Chase's acquisition of regional lender First Republic Bank.

The S&P 500 down 0.04%, the Dow slips 0.14%, and the Nasdaq closed 0.11% lower.

Regulators seized First Republic early Monday and sold most of the bank's operations to JPMorgan Chase for a quick turnaround.
